Stretch n' Slide

Figure 1 is a legato lick in A-minor blues (A, C, D, Eb, E, G). It's a great example of how sliding can extend your left-hand reach. By sliding the index finger down a fret and sliding the pinkcy up a fret creates a note span that extends eight frets, as can be seen in photo A below.
